By completing this combined Online and Face to Face course, you will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, respond to, support, and protect children and young people who may be at risk of harm.
The course covers important topics such as Recognizing signs of child abuse and neglect and understanding different types of abuse based on factors like age, gender, disability, culture, and sexuality.

COURSE DELIVERY
This course will be delivered in the workplace or at a Hills First Aid Training facility.
COURSE DURATION (ONLINE and FACE TO FACE)
Blended delivery – 1-2 hours (minimum) face to face course – with the addition of 3-hour self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course.
Refresher training – 1-2 hours (minimum) – face to face course with an addition of 3-hour self paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course..
WORK PLACEMENT ARRANGEMENTS
No work placement will be required as part of this course.

ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Participants must be able to use a computer/device to conduct research on the internet for the online component.
What happens at the course
The course structure is made up of an online training module set at an individual pace prior to a 2hr face to face practical session at your venue. This is a great training option which allows for discussion of the online component and all questions (if any) raised during the online component to be covered. The face to face session is structured to make sure all staff are qualified at the completion of the session. (There is no additional assignment to complete). The scenarios covered are discussed between small groups of 2 and a detailed outcome for the scenario is planned and established, and reports completed. This allows a greater confidence to be developed for the participants attending. They will learn how to deal with these delicate issues associated within your profession.
ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES

Child / young person at risk signs reporting

Complete two (2) Incident Report forms
Theory assessment - A written assessment consisting of case studies and multiple-choice questions.
